What is Carbon Steel Threaded Tee
Carbon steel threaded tees are available in various shapes and sizes and can be found in various applications such as plumbing, oil and gas, and chemical industries. Carbon steel is an alloy of iron and carbon and is ideal for high pressure and temperature levels.
Carbon steel threaded tee owns a T shape and has two outlets at an angle of 90° each and one main connection line. It is a pipe fitting that has adjacent outlets and used to connect pipes at 90° angle.
Threaded tees are used to combine or divide the flow of fluid. It is a convenient way to split a single pipe into two, or to combine two pipes into one.
What is the Difference Between Carbon Steel A105 and A105N
A105 steel is one of the most commonly used carbon steel material grade and is used to produce pipe fittings such as tees, flanges etc. A105N undergoes normalization heat treatment, which increases its strength, toughness, and performance at low temperatures. The main difference between A105 and A105N is their heat treatment. A105 has no heat treatment requirement, and has a higher carbon content, which gives it its hardness.
Types of Thread
There are variety of types of threads that can be found, and some main types of threads are parallel threads, including BSPP, UN/UNF and metric parallel. The second type of thread is tapered threads in which metric tapered, BSPT, and NPT thread/NPTF thread are included.
The best known and most widely used connection is the American National Pipe Tapered Thread, also referred to as NPT. NPT has a tapered male and female thread that seals with Teflon tape or jointing compound.
