What is ASTM A106 GR B Seamless Pipe

ASTM A106 GR B seamless pipes are derived from whole round steel, and the specialty of this kind of pipes is that there isn’t any weld on the surface. ASTM A106 GR B seamless carbon steel pipes are mostly used for high-temperature service. In the same grade and size, seamless pipes can withstand 20% higher working pressure than the welded ones.Given the variety of cross section, these pipes have two different types: round and special shaped. Moreover, ASTM A106 includes three grades: A, B, and C, and GR B is most commonly used. ASTM A106 GR B pipe is said to be the same with ASTM A53 GR B and API 5L GR B considering chemical composition and mechanical properties.
