What is Socket Weld Cap
ASTM A105 socket weld cap is a type of pipe fitting, usually liquid or gas-tight which covers the end of a pipe to protect the end. The functions of a cap are similar to a plug. They are mainly used for small pipe diameters.
Pressure
There are three types pressure rate for the ASTM A105 socket weld cap, CLASS 3000, 6000 and 9000.
The pressure rate means the pressure the cap can bear, such as class3000 socket weld cap can bear 3000LB pressure, and match with the same or lower pressure pipes and pipe fittings.
Size
The size range is 1/8" – 4" / DN6 - DN100 for the socket weld cap. The most common size is below 2". It means most socket weld cap in stock is below 2". We usually manufacture the ASTM A105 socket weld cap according to ASME B16.11 standard.
